The Los Angeles Times reports today that the "romantic secret marriage" of Nadjeda de Braganza Dorozynski" has come to a "swift termination."
Mrs. Dorozynski will be "awarded a divorce" tomorrow in Reno from Vadim Dorozysnki, the son of a former Russia naval officer. The couple were "married only sixteen months ago."
Mrs. Dorozyski is the daughter of Princess Miguel de Braganza and the late Prince Miguel, "pretender to the throne of Portugal." The princess is the former Anita Rhinelander Stewart, whose marriage to Prince Miguel "was one of those famed alliances between American dollars and European aristocracy early in this century."
Princess Miguel and her family returned to the United States to live. Her American citizenship was eventually restored, and she prefers to be known as Mrs. de Braganca.
Princess Nadjeda has also "gone American." In September 1930, her mother "learned with surprise" that Nadjeda had eloped with a Russian, Vadim Doroznyski. They married at Capri, Italy, on August 16m 1930.
The divorce proceedings have been kept secret, and "all the details have been withheld." Dorozynski did not contest the divorce.
