The Associated Press reports today on the rumors that former Empress Zita of Austria is in Italy to arrange a marriage between her eldest son, Archduke Otto, with King Vittorio Emanuele of Italy's youngest daughter, Princess Maria.
The Empress was recently granted a private audience with Pope Pius.
But according, to semi-official circles, it seems unlikely that "such a marriage would be considered at present."
