News and commentary about the reigning royal houses of the United Kingdom, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Belgium, Luxembourg, Liechtenstein, the Netherlands, Spain, Monaco -- and the former European monarchies as well.
I noticed that William and Harry walked past the Badens, Hesses, and Hohenlohes without any sign of recognition. I would have thought the Princes might know Countess Mountbatten and Lord Brabourne, but they were seated in the second row and were perhaps just missed.
The Germans and the Mountbattens were not in the second row - they were several rows behind the British royal family. William and Harry have met their German cousins, and they certainly know the Brabournes (Lord B is William's godfather, and William and Nicholas were childhood friends)
You're right, they were behind the the BRF, but there was an aisle between the BRF section and the "German" section. Countess Mountbatten and her son were in the second row of this section. The Princes walked down this aisle to a metal gate.
