Romanian king to abdicate: rumor

It is being reported in Bucharest that King Carol, the present ruler of Roumania, "has decided to abdicate within a short time in favor of his nephew," Prince Ferdinand of Hohenzollern, who is styled as Prince Ferdinand of Romania. 
Prince Ferdinand is the second son of Carol's elder brother.  It is rumored that Prince Ferdinand is engaged to Princess Marie of Edinburgh, eldest daughter of the Duke of Edinburgh, second son of Queen Victoria, according to the New York Times.
