King and Queen of Denmark stop for snack at train station

December 3, 1926

King Christian X and Queen Alexandrine of Denmark were changing trains today at Aachen, and decided to stop at a snack counter in the train station before boarding the train for their return trip to Denmark, reports the Associated Press.
The King and Queen were returning home after a "surfeit of banquets in Stockholm and Brussels in connection" with the recent marriage celebrations of Princess Astrid of Sweden and Crown Prince Leopold of the Belgians.
As the couple strolled along the platform, they spotted the "refreshment room and entered."  They climbed on the stools at the counter, and "democratically took a 'snack' with other travelers" before returning to their private railroad car.
