The Duke of Spoleto, instead of Crown Prince Umberto of Italy, will be heading the Italian mission to Bucharest tomorrow, according to the AP, which based its report on an item in the Bucharest newspaper Adeverul. The Roumanian press has been full of rumors about a forthcoming marriage between Crown Prince Umberto, heir to the Italian throne, and Princess Ileana, the youngest daughter of King Ferdinand and Queen Marie.
The newspaper states "that no confirmation can be obtained from well-informed circles in Bucharest" regarding an engagement announcement.
King Ferdinand plans to welcome the Italian mission. It is understood that the Italian mission to Bucharest will m pave the way for King Ferdinand and Queen Marie to make an official visit to Rome.
Princess Ileana is now in the United States with Queen Marie.
