Alexandra dislikes Queen Mother moniker

By Marconi Transatlantic wireless telegraph to the New York Times - by telegraph to Clifden, Ireland; thence by wireless

Queen Alexandra "has given plain expression to her desire that the designation of Queen Mother given to her in the Prayer Book" issued after the death of her late husband, King Edward VII "should no longer be employed."

If the Queen had her "wishes be known" it is unlikely that the public would have called her the Queen Mother.
