Princess Agathe of Hohenlohe-Schillingsfürst, "one of the most beautiful girls in the society of Berlin," was married today to Prince Friedrich Wilhelm of Prussia, a second cousin of Kaiser Wilhelm II.
The couple were married at the Neues Palace in Potsdam. The ceremony was conducted by Pastor Dryander, the Court Pastor. The 22-year-old bride, who is the elder daughter of Viktor II, Duke of Ratibor, wore the Prussian Princess's crown, which had been placed on her head by Empress Auguste Viktoria, according to the New York Times.
Prince Friedrich Wilhelm is the third son of the late Prince Albrecht of Prussia. Regent of Brunswick, and Princess Marie of Saxe-Altenburg. His elder brothers live outside Germany.
The Lutheran ceremony was "witnessed by many members of royalty from the minor German states," according to the New York Times.
