Christopher denies that his marriage has cost him his rank

April 13, 1920

Prince Christopher has sent out an "emphatic denial of rumors to the effect that he had renounced his rank and his membership in the sovereign house of Greece," because of his marriage to the American Nancy Leeds.
These rumors gain credence at the time of the marriage as neither Christopher's mother, Queen Olga, nor other members of the family attended Christopher's nuptials. The former Mrs. Leeds "goes on her smiling way, apparently not in the least disturbed by gossip." The Los Angeles Times reports that Christopher's wife "is received in the most exclusive houses and has many genuine friends among the exiled nobility."
