The German tabloid, Bild, has the photos of a canoodling Prince of Hanover with a brunette who is not his wife. As the photos are copyrighted, and Bild has apparently purchased the rights, I will provide a link to the photos. All have Bild's watermark.

Thanks for the link! The first pic wasn't that impressive, but I definitely saw a canoodle or two in the following shots. Must be a sad situation for someone.
ReplyDeleteI know this is completely premature, but hypothetically speaking: if Caroline and EA were to get divorced (and of course maybe they won't, who can say..), would she retain her HRH? Or would it be something like, 'HSH Princess Caroline of Monaco, Princess of Hannover' in the same vein as 'Diana, Princess of Wales' or 'Sarah, Duchess of York'?
ReplyDeleteMost likely Caroline will revert to her maiden name as she is a member of a reigning dynasty. Legally, in Germany, Prinzessin von Hannover is a surname, and nothing more. If there is a divorce, it is likely she will drop her married "title"
ReplyDeleteI can't see Caroline giving up her "Her Royal Highness" if she divorces. It has much higher standing than "Serene Highness" in royal circles and social climbing society events! Would the House of Hanover be able to deprive her of it, like the Windsors did to Diana? (and Sarah Ferguson).

Great Britain has a reigning monarchy, and a sovereign able to issue a letters patent that is legally binding. Germany is a republic, and Caroline's HRH is not legally recognized in Germany. Her precedence is higher than her husband's regardless of his HRH because she is a member of a reigning dynasty.
