Habsburg castle sold for back taxes

November 10, 1926

Archduke Leopold Salvator of Austria saw his Vienna palace sold today for $160,000. The buyer is Dr. Julius Ullman, who is believed to be acting as a representative for the Vienna city government, which has plans to turn the palace into a "proletarian sanitarium."
The estate includes a 165 acre park, and is one of the largest estates in the Austrian capital.
The forced sale was due to non-payment of taxes.
