Prince George of Yugoslavia has not been told about brother's death

October 14, 1934

Prince George of Yugoslavia may be the only person in this sad country who does not know about the death of King Alexander.
George, who is older than the slain king, renounced his rights in 1909 as he suffers from mental instability and is confined to a fortified house for the past nine years.
Neither Queen Marie nor Prince Paul, who is one of three regents for the young king Peter, has "had the heart to convey the news" of the king's death to Prince George. It is understood that the prince would not be able to "comprehend the tragic news," according to a report in the Chicago Daily Tribune.
