Nicholas II and family exonerated

Russia's supreme court has ruled that Nicholas II and his family "must be recognized as victims of Soviet repression." Nicholas abdicated in March 1917. He and his family were placed under house arrest, and were moved several times until May 1918, when they were taken to Ekaterinburg in the Urals. During the early hours of July 17, 1918, Nicholas II, Alexandra, their five children, their doctor and several loyal servants, were executed by drunken Bolsheviks. It is believed that the order to kill the Imperial family came from the Lenin himself.
