The infant heir apparent to the Russian throne, the Tsarevitch, inspired loyalty today when he made his "first patriotic duty in his brief life." He was brought by his parents, Nicholas and Alexandra, to inspect the fleet at Reval. The idea of taking the infant Alexis to this event "was the happiest possible," according to a report in the Chicago Daily Tribune. Alexis's appearance "stirred every fibre of loyalty, patriotism, and devotion" to all ranks - from the admiral to the cabin boys. Alexandra's presence "served to complete the happiness of everyone."
