Princess Laetitia's wedding gown

September 8, 1888. The New York Times reports (based on a report in London's Daily Telegraph), that Princess Laetitia Bonaparte, who is about to marry her uncle, the Duke of Aosta, will wear a white moiré gown in the style of the First Empire. The gown will be "ornamented with silver embroidery and festooned with orange blossoms." Her diadem is a diamond tiara, and the bridal veil, also moiré, has been embroidered with 360 bees and 160 eagles, which are the emblems of the Bonaparte family.
