Prince Joachim of Belgium to marry? Er .... No!!

Update:  As suspected, Prince Joachim of Belgium is not marrying Kimberley Banjoko.  A spokesman for the Prince released this statement:

"Prince Joachim didn't receive an invitation to his own wedding. He doesn't know the woman being presented as his future wife at all.  The prince finds this amusing, but to be clear, it's fake."

For the record,  I was suspicious about this wedding page on Zola.  In fact, someone needs a reality check!!      I sent this post to two royal journalists and the palace's Twitter accounts.

I had a "Sure, Jan" moment while writing this.

"HRH Joachim de Belgique and Kimberley Banjoko are allegedly getting married in France on May 2, 2026."

The groom, 34, is alleged to be HRH Prince Joachim Karl-Maria Nikolaus Isabelle Marcus d'Aviano of Belgium, Archduke of Austria,  third of five children of HRH Princess Astrid of Belgium, and her husband, HRH Prince Lorenz, born HI & RH Archduke Lorenz of Austria.

Kimberley Banjoko is also known as Kimberley Elle and Lady Kimberley Banjoko.   Excuse me, while I gag!  Lady Kimberley would mean she is the daughter of a Duke, Marquess, or Earl, in the peerages of England, Scotland, Great Britain, Ireland, and the United Kingdom.    Banjoko, a Syracuse University graduate, has been calling herself Lady Kimberley since at least 2020.

I can assure you she is not the daughter of a duke, marquess, or earl. 

An announcement about Joachim's engagement and marriage would come from the Royal Palace in Brussels, not a wedding site on Zola.

The prince earned an MBA from Harvard.  He is a Managing Partner with Innesto Partners, which he founded in 2021 with Felipe Corcuera.   Joachim's sister, Princess Luisa, joined Innesto in 2023 and is now the firm's Vice President.

Felipe Corcuera Habsburgo-Lorena is Joachim and Luisa's second cousin.  His mother, Archduchess Myriam of Austria, and Prince Lorenz of Belgium are first cousins, as their parents, Archduke Felix and Archduke Robert, were brothers. 

Prince Joachim has a successful career in Belgium.  He and his siblings will not be working royals with the Belgian royal family.

This alleged wedding site, complete with a registry, should be treated as a NoJoko, as the alleged bride-to-be could be a fantasist. 

Kimberley's Instagram account has no photos of her alleged fiancé, which is not a surprise, as Joachim lives in Brussels - and if and when he marries, his bride will most likely be Roman Catholic and European.
