The 1917 LP extends the title of Prince or Princess and the HRH to the children of the sovereign and the grandchildren of the sovereign and the eldest son of the eldest son a Prince of Wales. Elizabeth issue a new LP to give the HRH and title Prince/ss to eldest son of the Prince of Wales (Meaning Charles) There are examples in peerages when the father dies before the son, and the son succeeds the grandfather, the new peer can ask the sovereign to give the rank and courtesy title of daughters and younger sons of that peer, if their father had succeeded. There various examples, such as the Earl of Jersey and the late Earl of Lichfield, both of whom succeeded grandfathers and their siblings were granted the rank and title of daughters of an earl. This would not apply to Harry's kids because the would be grandchildren. There are no rules for this scenario. It is also possible that a new LP would be issued to limit the HRH and title of Prince and Princess to the main line, and Harry's children would not be royal. There is no real answer to your question because it has not happened.<br />Marlene Eilers Koenighttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14984860671065161997noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8762674434623075554.post-89605995552039818392014-05-28T23:30:36.427-04:002014-05-28T23:30:36.427-04:00Marlene:

She was born The Lady Alexandra Duff, with the title and rank of the daughter of a duke. She and her younger sister were created Princesses by Letters Patent in 1901 by their grandfather, Edward VII, when he named their mom as Princess Royal. They were given the HH, not the HRH (her Highness, which was lower.) This was based on the then current styling, Children of the sovereign were HRH and Prince and Princess. The HRH was also extended to the grandchildren of the sovereign in the male line. But great-grandchildren were HH. The future Edward VIII and two of his siblings were born HH. It was not until 1898 when Victoria issued a new LP, extending the HRH to the children of the duchess of York. This did not extend to the other grandchildren in the male line (children of Charles Edward of Albany or the Hanover descendants (their HRH was from Hanover, but they were HH Princes.esses of Great Britain and Ireland. Alexandra and Maud, although granddaughters of a sovereign, were given the HH, not the HRH, because they were not of the male line. They became HH Princess Alexandra and HH Princess Maud, and then HH The Duchess of Fife, but when she married HRH Prince Arthur, who had a higher rank and title, she became HRH Princess Arthur although she was also the Duchess of Fife. They were not princesses of the blood From the Letters Patent We are also desirous of defining and fixing the style and title by which the Children of Our said dear Daughter shall be designated : Now We are hereby pleased to declare that the Lady Alexandra Victoria Alberta Edwina Louise Duff and the Lady Maud Alexandra Georgina Bertha Duff daughters of Our said dear Daughter Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal shall at all times hold and enjoy the style title and attribute of Highness prefixed to such respective styles or titles of Honour as may belong to them and further to declare that Our said dear Grand-daughters shall bear the style of Princess prefixed to their respective Christian names and shall take hold and enjoy during the term of their natural lives in all Assemblies or Meetings whatsoever the Precedence and Rank following that is to say immediately after all Members of Our Royal Family enjoying the style of Royal Highness. I agree, it is annoying when bloggers make these mistakes and even worse when they cite Wikipedia as a source. The web is just littered with misinformation. The jewelry blogs and message boards though, I do like those if only for the sparkly photos. Frederik and Haakon are styled (in their native languages) as Crown Prince so their wives are indeed Crown Princesses. Letizia is not a Crown Princess because her husband is not a Crown Prince. He bears the title, Prince of Asturias, which makes Letizia the Princess of the Asturias, just as Diana was the Princess of Wales because her husband is the Prince of Wales .. or Catherine is the Duchess of Cambridge because her husband is the Duke of Cambridge.
