He did not lose HRH. he will no longer use it in an official capacity (same as Harry). It was confirmed by the Palace to reporters. Try reading the news articles ...

With all due respect, if you don't want people asking questions, then why bother having a blog? I did read news articles and NONE of them said the Duke of York was losing his HRH.

The palace said that Andrew, 61, who has been accused by Virginia Giuffre of raping her while she was a teenager, would also no longer use the title “His Royal Highness,” a prized symbol of his status as a senior member of the royal family. In a terse statement, the palace said that Andrew would “continue not to undertake any public duties” and that he “is defending this case as a private citizen.”

Prince Andrew was told face-to-face by his mother, Queen Elizabeth, that he will no longer be known as His Royal Highness, The Post is told.

Looking stony-faced, the embattled Duke of York was driven a few miles from his house, Royal Lodge, to Windsor Castle on Thursday morning.

There, the Queen, 95, broke the news that she was stripping her 61-year-old son of all his remaining military titles and royal patronages in the wake of the sex-assault lawsuit brought against him by Virginia Roberts Giuffre.

Andrew has denied the charges against him.

During a private audience, the monarch told Andrew he will no longer be known as His Royal Highness “in any official capacity” — and that he will be left to fight his lawsuit in the US as a private citizen.

It comes after Prince Andrew agreed to no longer use his HRH title, in an attempt to protect the Royal family from the fallout of the sexual abuse case.

Prince Andrew loses military roles and use of HRH title
and the last one I selected includes an interview with me https://www.businessinsider.in/thelife/news/why-prince-andrew-hasnt-lost-his-prince-and-duke-titles-yet-according-to-a-royal-expert/articleshow/88903952.cms

There are plenty of articles that mention the loss of the HRH in an official capacity.

Marlene,

Is it that Andrew is still HRH by birthright, but no longer in a public, official, civic way?

Along these lines, but somewhat off track is a question I have as I'm reading, "Performing Tsarist Russia in New York," by Natalie K. Zelensky, Indiana University Press, Bloomington, Indiana, 2019. On page 195, the author is describing contemporary Russian Balls held in NY where elderly Russian émigrés from aristocratic families, would attend wearing medals. In an interview with someone who's name was withheld stated, "...It's so funny. You lose your title when you come to America." My question is, is it true titled aristocrats loose their titles when they come to America? If so, why? Is this only true for aristocrats who come to America from a country that has gone through revolution where the current rule no longer acknowledges the previous rule?

Any clarity would be appreciated!

There are some very selfish uneducated readers out there. Thanks Marlene. One can tell with a name as "Anti-British Royals" are only here to cause trouble. Its a pity their fathers didn't pull out in time of conception.

Andrew still retains police protection and his grace and favour residence at Windsor. Interesting those weren't addressed.

Andrew does not have a grace and favour home. He has a long lease through the Crown Estates for Royal Lodge and paid more than £7 million for much-needed renovations after the death of the Queen Mother. The lease is for 75 years. He cannot profit from the lease but it can be passed to his widow (if he had one) or his daughters during that 75 year period. He can terminate the lease of course, and he would be able to reclaim a percentage of the £7 million.
At some point he will probably be moved to private security, but without police protection, anyone could drive into the area. There are probably a lot more real threats against Andrew than Harry's visions.

Andrew and Harry remain HRH but are no longer able to use it in an official capacity. There has been no action to remove the HRH.
