Princess Jolanda Margherita Milena Elisabetta Romana Maria of Savoy (1901-1986), eldest daughter of King Vittorio Emanule III and Queen Elena of Italy, and her husband Count Giorgio Calvi de Bergolo (1887-1977).

As the eldest daughter of the King,  Jolanda was subject to numerous rumors about who she would marry.  The Prince of Wales, the eldest son of King George V, emerged as a candidate only because he happened to be in Paris the same time Jolanda, who was visiting the city with her mother, her sister, Princess Mafalda, and the Duchess of Aosta.

It was an Italian count who won her heart and her hand.  Princess Jolanda and Count Giorgio were married at the Quirinal Palace on April 9, 1923.
