Visiting Bhutan

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge arrived in Bhutan this morning, where they were welcomed the King of Bhutan's half-sister and her husband.

After an hour drive to Thimpu, the capital, the Duke and Duchess received an official welcome by King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck and his stunningly beautiful wife, Queen Jetsun Pema, who gave birth to the couple's first child, a son, on February 5.

While I appreciate the Duchess of Cambridge's desire to wear a dress made from Bhutanese fabric,  I remain stunned that she has failed to acknowledge the memo about weights in hems or making sure one does not show one's legs in a conservative country.

Queen Jetsun Pema and her husband are second half cousins once removed.  Her elder sister, Yeatso Lhamo, is the wife of the King's younger brother, Prince Jigme Dorji Wangchuck.

Seems there is an inordinately large number of Seven Year Itch Marilyn Monroe moments over the past 4 years...
