Ileana sees Lexel again

May 14, 1930

Princess Ileana did have a final meeting with Count Lexel to tell him that their engagement was over, reports the New York Times.  "Responsible circles" have confirmed this, despite earlier reports to the contrary.

The princess, who remained in Cairo, after her mother, Dowager Queen Marie, returned to Bucharest, "requested that Count Hochberg," who had arrived in Egypt, be able to meet with her.

It is understood that the meeting between Princess Ileana and Count Alexander von Hochberg has already taken place and "it is understood that the result was a complete breaking off of all contact between the two."

Princess Ileana is expected to return to Bucharest in the next few days.
