Grand Duchess Maria forget that Spain, where she lives, isn´t the czarist Russia and we are in XXIst century.Today it´s very important for a king to have popularity. Sadly King Juan Carlos has low popularity, there are so many young people among Spanish population and probably Prince Felipe will connect much better with those young people.
But I think H.M. King Juan Carlos should wait one or two more years. At the moment Spain has economics problems (although economy is improving) and we have a serious separatist problem in Catalonia. I don´t think it´s the right time for an abdication.
