The Grand Duke of Baden has guests

May 4, 1911

It's party time.  German Emperor Wilhelm II and Empress Auguste arrived today in Karlsruhe to be guests, with King Gustav V and Queen Victoria of Sweden,  of Grand Duke Friedrich of Baden, reports the Chicago Daily Tribune.

The German "imperial personages" traveled on the royal yacht Hohenzollern from Corfu to Genoa, Italy, where they boarded a train for the return trip to Germany.  The Swedish sovereigns are returning home "from a visit to Rome."

Queen Victoria and Grand Duke Friedrich are siblings.  They are also first cousins to Kaiser Wilhelm II as their mother, Princess Luise, and Wilhelm's father, the late Emperor Friedrich III, were sister and brother.
