January 11, 1900

Prince Albrecht of Prussia has bought the "celebrated" Wilhelm Vineyard at Markobrunn, according to the New York Times. The prince paid $5600 per acre.
The Prince, who is married to Princess Marie of Saxe-Altenburg, has been the regent for the Duchy of Brunswick since 1885. He also serves as the Grand Master of the Order of St. John of Jerusalem.
The vineyard produces "one of the most celebrated brands of Rhine wine."
