Sarah Palin distant cousin to FDR and Diana

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/newstopics/uselection2008/sarahpalin/3161998/Sarah-Palin-related-to-Princess-Diana-and-Franklin-D-Roosevelt.html

Governor Sarah Palin has genealogical links, albeit distant, to the late U.S. president Franklin Delano Roosevelt, and the former Lady Diana Spencer, the first wife of the Prince of Wales.
I'd be surprised if Caribou Barbie even knew the history of these two people.

I'd be shocked....SHOCKED....if she knew FDR and Teddy Roosevelt were two different people.

As for Diana, the only "Spencer"s she probably knows of were those who made firearms in the 19th century.

How can so many people always be related to royalty and high political figures? Isn't anyone related to only lowly relatives?

Related is a relative term :)
Millions of ordinary Americans have the same Colonial ancestors -- and some of the descendants are become famous. The late Lady Diana has numerous American lines through her mother's family. No one is saying that Sarah Palin is closely related. She's not. But she shares a common ancestor with thousands and thousands of others. You could share this common ancestor as well. Millions of ordinary people descend from the Plantagenets.
